The Perks of Being a Wallflower is a novel written as a series of letters by the main character, Charlie. He seems to be a very strange boy in the beginning, however as the novel continues Charlie begins to find himself and through his letters we the readers arew able to figure out his true identity as well. The most important theme in the novel is "Holding Secrets" because in the end we are able to find out the secret that was haunting Charlie, what really explains his actions throughout the novel. Charlie's secret also forces him into conformity, he doesn't want "his friends" to know that he is hiding something that makes him "different" from them so he conforms to them and imitates their actions even though it leads him into doing things he normally wouldn't do.
♥♥Have you ever been so ashamed of a secret that you change your whole identity just so that people don't find out???

No, i have never been in such a situatio; however, i have read of such cases. It is unfortunate of those idividuals and should try to be prevented.
